Two assessments, two different moments

Renew offers two separate assessment products, for two different moments in an operation’s life: those who do not yet have a structured SSC and need to know where to start, and those who already have an SSC deployed and need to know whether it is sized correctly.

Area assessment

For areas or accounts that have not yet gone through a structured survey.

What gets surveyed. A high-level map of every process in the area, organized into areas, processes and activities. For each activity, the unit effort per operation and the real monthly volume, from which today’s total effort (AS-IS) is calculated. The improvements identified next — standardization, eliminating rework, automation — are then used to calculate the effort after the change (TO-BE) and the resulting gain.

How long it takes. A high-level survey of an area typically takes a few weeks, with structured interviews and validation of the client’s capacity parameters: business days per month, hours per shift, productivity and target utilization.

What the client gets. A prioritized picture of the area’s processes by potential gain and by FTE that can be freed up — in other words, where to start first. A number, not a promise: hours per month today, hours per month afterward, FTE freed up per process.

Deployed SSC assessment

For those who already have a Shared Services Center in operation and need to know whether it is running efficiently.

What gets surveyed. Whether installed capacity is sized for the real volume received — including peaks, not just the average. Whether the agreed service level agreements are calibrated or needlessly expensive (an oversized SLA costs more than it needs to). Where in the operation a queue forms, and why.

How long it takes. Depends on the number of services in the SSC’s catalog being evaluated; the analysis uses historical volume and handling-time data that already exists in the operation, which reduces the dependency on interviews.

What the client gets. An objective diagnostic of the SSC’s operational efficiency, with a recommendation for recalibrating SLA and capacity process by process, and an indication of where automation reduces effort with the greatest impact.

Why start here

The two assessments are Renew’s entry offer because they answer the same question that normally stalls a hiring decision: how much effort exists today, and how much can be recovered — before any investment in tooling.
